Holiday Pictures!

So I know its already the middle of January, but I have to include some wonderful photos of our first Christmas and first (first) New Year's in China. Notice the joy on our faces with some of the foreign items our parents sent, or the Chistmas Eve "party" that turned out rather to be a talent show! I had the chance to sing my favorite carol, "O Holy Night,". I'll try to put a little caption near the pictures:

I am terrible at formatting and such, so please forgive my bad layouts! (Obviously this is Lisa and not Shane). The first picture is a precious gift from a student, who actually trekked to a recently-opened foreign chocolate store 45 minutes away to personalize this chocolate for me. I had been raving about the store to my students when it opened, because as all who know me understand, chocolate is a high priority! The second is a picture of our Christmas feast. It looks like a normal holiday meal, huh? When you put together a lot of foreigners, and its a special occasion so everyone splurges a little, it makes a great foreign meal.

Oh, I really need to study the art of blogging! Anyway, these next two shots continue our Christmas feasting...the left is a dessert table. The greatest blessing was the peanut butter hershey kiss cookies you see in the center...some of Shane's favorites! A friend of ours received all the ingredients from her friend in the US and was kind enough to share it with us. The picture on the right is the fancy restaurant our school took us too for Christmas dinner. It was fun to eat in such an elegant place!
